Privacy Policy

Last updated 19 October 2026

This policy explains what Piknado does and does not do with information. It is a starting template: have it reviewed for your situation and fill in the bracketed details before launch.

Your lists stay on your device

The names you type, paste or import are processed in your browser only. Files you import are read on your device and are not uploaded. We cannot see your lists and we never send them to analytics or error reports.

Local storage

To remember your last list and settings (for example sound on or off), Piknado saves them in your browser’s local storage. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings. If storage is blocked, the tools still work; your list simply is not remembered.

Analytics

We measure visits and which features are used with a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It records things like the page visited, country, device type and counts of actions (for example, “a spin happened”). It never records names or list contents and does not use cookies to follow you between sites.

Error reports

If something breaks, an error report with technical details (such as the error message and browser type) may be sent to our error-monitoring service so we can fix it. Reports are configured to exclude personal data and anything you typed.

Saved wheels

If you press Save & share or Embed, the names, title and settings of that wheel are stored on our server so the link works. Anyone with the link can see them, but the page is hidden from search engines. Reporting a wheel stores your reason and a one-way hash of your address, so one person cannot report the same wheel twice. To have a saved wheel removed, contact us with its link. Your classes on the Classroom page stay in your browser and are never sent to us.

Spin counter

To show how many spins happened today, your browser sends a small number (how many spins you made) to our server. It contains no names, no identifier and no address.

Advertising

Piknado is free and plans to earn revenue from display ads. When ads are switched on, the ad provider may use cookies or similar technologies. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent through a consent banner before personalised ads are used, and we will update this policy at that time. Ads are never shown in fullscreen mode or inside the winner popup.

Hosting and logs

Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for a short time for security and reliability.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Thailand’s PDPA) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we hold almost no personal data, there is usually nothing to retrieve, but you can ask us at any time.

Children

The tools are suitable for classrooms, but Piknado is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes and contact

We will update this page when our practices change. Questions? Write to [email protected] or use the contact page.
