Everyone gets a turn

Random Name Picker for Teachers

Keep a list for each class, pick students with fair rotation, and make groups where people meet new partners.

Add your first class

Name it, paste your students, and they’re one tap away next lesson. Each class remembers who has had a turn and who has worked together.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add your classes

Name a class and paste in your students. Each class is saved on this device.

  2. 2

    Pick with fair rotation

Spin the wheel. Anyone picked leaves the wheel until everyone has had a turn.

  3. 3

    Make groups

Choose how many groups. Piknado remembers past groups and gives people new partners.

  4. 4

    Use it anywhere

Works on a projector or a phone. Your class lists stay in this browser unless you choose to save and share them.

Questions, answered

What is fair rotation?

Everyone is picked once before anyone is picked again. The wheel only shows students who haven’t had a turn yet.

Where are my classes saved?

Only in this browser, on this device. To use a list somewhere else, open it in the Wheel and use Save & share.

How does avoiding repeat partners work?

Piknado remembers who shared a group and picks the arrangement with the fewest repeats. If some repeated pairings are unavoidable, Piknado lets you know.

Can a student be picked twice in one round?

No. A picked student stays off the wheel until the round ends or you start a new one.

What if a student joins or leaves mid-round?

Use Edit names. New students join the wheel right away, and removed students disappear.
